1) Wait, who are you again?
I'm a film and TV composer in Los Angeles.
2) And what's your musical background?
Let’s see… I started playing classical piano when I was thirteen. A few years later, I won the Iowa State Fair Piano Competition with my own arrangement of Chopsticks. Soon -
3) I meant more recently.
Ah, sorry. I studied music composition and film at Yale University, which sparked my interest in film scoring. When I moved to Los Angeles, I took a job at Remote Control, Hans Zimmer's composing studio. There, I worked for Emmy nominee James S. Levine, writing music for shows like Glee, American Horror Story, Royal Pains, Major Crimes, and many more.
4) And now?
I score films, TV shows, and commercials. My music has been licensed on over fifteen thousand television episodes worldwide. Oh, I also won a Webby a few years ago… just wanted to sneak that in there.
5) What’s the significance of “Brick”? I’m guessing there’s a great story there!
Not really. It’s just my middle name.
